Samsonite cares about making the world a better and greener place. That’s why we are excited to announce our collaboration with WeForest, an international non-profit organisation which encourages companies to help restore the world’s forests.

Therefore we decided to plant a tree in Zambia exclusively for every Made in Europe suitcase bought on our website. Trees are the ideal way of reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and reversing global warming. But it’s not just about trees, it’s about the overall effects this has on the environment.

The Luanshya district is Zambia’s most densely populated region. Due to increasing urbanisation, the forests in this area are continuing to disappear. That’s why Samsonite is teaming up with WeForest to support local farmers restore these native Miombo woodlands.

Local communities can restore their forests by employing assisted natural regeneration of Miombo woodlots and introducing economic activities such as bioenergy and honey production. This project also looks to give farmers the opportunity to acquire land in order to secure the sustainability and longevity of the conservation.

We are proud to contribute to the Zambia project

We love our planet!

WeForest is an international non-profit organisation, specialising in helping companies to restore the world’s forests and embark on a long-term journey towards environmental sustainability.

The challenge is to reduce future carbon emissions and actively remove the excess carbon from our atmosphere. Forests are the best way of doing this as they absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

They have projects all over the world and have planted over 20 million trees in total.
